PSALM 43 (Amplified Version)
- Judge and vindicate me, O God; plead
and defend my cause against an ungodly nation. O deliver me
from the deceitful and unjust man!
- For You are the God of my strength
(my Stronghold – in Whom I take refuge ); why have You cast
me off ? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the
enemy?
- O send out Your light and your truth,
let them lead me: let them bring me to Your Holy hill and to
your dwelling.
- Then
will I go to the altar of God, to God, my exceeding joy; yes,
with the lyre will I praise You, O God, my God!
- Why are you cast down, O my inner
self? And why should you moan over me and be disquieted within
me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet
praise Him, Who is the help of my (sad) countenance, and my
God.
Hey guys… pray you are having an amazing
week….
This week’s study was most likely written by Hezekiah, King of Judah,
just prior to the efforts of the King of Assyria, to capture Jerusalem.Psalm
43 actually makes a wonderful companion to Psalm 42… Marilyn Hickey
says’ Togetherthey make a sadly beautiful song,and some Hebrew texts
even present them as one.We see several refrains repeated in both
Psalms.’
I truly believe that if you know that you know that in your heart
you are right before God, then no matter whatever man may say against
you… and here Hezekiah is talking about not just a man, but an UNGODLY
NATION,WELL……you are on the RIGHT side of peace!! For if GOD IS FOR
YOU... who can be against you! Oh, the enemy will always try to bring
false accusation, guilt and condemnation, present man’s way as the
final verdict but WE KNOW whose we are. Those who are not true to
God Himself, cannot even be expected to be true to His people.
You will be faced with many situations like this in your walk in
life, when you feel like there is absolutely no victory in sight,
and no way through.‘Judge andVindicate me oh Lord’… vindicatemeaningto
clear somebody or something of blame, guilt, suspicion and doubt… To
be cleared of all doubt from your heavenly Father is the most wonderful
sense of freedom that there is…
The psalmist then confronts his own thought process, and says bravely, ‘why
do I go about oppressed because of my enemy????
Just yesterday, I was talking to a very dear lady about this exact
kind of story… that even though she is a walking, living, breathing
child of God, the enemy… every single night, tries to taunt her with
such feelings of blame and shame. He is, and always will be the accuser
of the brethren… get strong lovely people when it comes to understanding
that is our battle ground, and how to see your mind RENEWED by the
power of God.
Send out Your light… is the cry!!!Send out Your truth!! Let them
lead me…. I pray that you are always praying that the fullness of
joy that accompanies His glorious presence AND the faithfulness of
His heart toward you will be where you place your ultimate confidence.
When you are walking in communion with God, the light of the Holy
Spirit, and the Truth as it is in Jesus, these are the things… that
are elevating, perfecting, sanctifiying us, leading us continually
toward the heart and glory of our loving God.
The very same God who has delivered you again and again, will YET
AGAIN be there to deliver, strengthen, and bring truth to your circumstance…… SO
VERY, VERY AMAZING!!!
I love where we go to next in these verses, as many of us would run
to our earthly home… or a place of solitude… (especially if you have
a creative bent!!)… but the first place the psalmist willingly runs
to is the altar of God.
What is the altar of God?? In the new testament… we are not talking
ritualism, it is not burnt offerings, but it is where you find yourself … your
WHOLE SELF, just as this Psalmist has here.. throwing himself on
the mercy and loving arms of God. You can tell it is not because
of rituals , but as acomplete and loving sacrifice… in fact the psalmist
heart is excited at the thought of yielding again…With utter, complete,
and with great joy we should always run toward the altar of God.THIS
IS THE ONLY ALTAR THAT RRULY MATTERS.
He isn’t running toward the fruit of joy, the fountain of joy, or
trying to be full of joy at this time, but literally calling God
the Father HIS EXCEEDING JOY!!!
Listen to this… ’exceeding joy, this can be said of no other joy.
All other beauties have their boundaries, all other glories have
their gloom,.. this is the illimitable sea… GOD’ - E. Paxton. Hood
His Lord and King… my GOD, My exceeding Joy, and with this fullness
of heart, he worships……. ‘I will praise You upon the harp’…. This
is where we come and dwell upon the name we know so well.
Spurgeon… ’O God, my God,.. He already harps on it as though his
harp music had begun. What sweeter sounds can music know than these
four words… my God, my God!!. To have God in possession, and to know
it by faith, is the heart’s heaven – a fullness of bliss lies within.
I go CRAZY over this Psalm… I am totally wanting to write this song
now as I am so inspired!!
Why are you downcast O my soul… HOPE IN GOD…. or WAIT FOR GOD……
The Lord will not stand by and watch His children trampled on forever… and
as confident as I am that the sun will rise in the morning, so is
my confidence that He will shine His light on your circumstance,
whatever it may be.
So we MUST take courage and confidence in these words… walked well
and pioneered long before we were here, as God is our shield and
TOTAL delight. He IS the health of my countenance…and MY GOD.
I will not even attempt to add any great words of wisdom to this,
as I pray RIGHT now, that in your world, you feel a literal infilling
of the Holy Spirit in power and might, and when you have not had
strength to stand before and declare His faithfulness, that that
ALL changes NOW, in Jesus name.
I love you guys so very much… and TOTALLY believe in you and your potential….
Have a wonderful rehearsal, wherever you are in the world… make His praises glorious…apply
yourself to the wonder of His Kingdom and His power. Thank you to all who played
a part in making Mothers’ Day, and our AOG Conference, such a haven for people
to experience Christ… I was overwhelmed at your dedication again… you inspire
me to be all I can be for you.
