Am I Bruising People’s Souls?

Matthew 12:19,20
He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
A bruised reed shall he not break…
Has the Lord ever shown you that striving and debating are out of character? This scripture describes our Lord who never raised His voice nor reacted to His enemies with sarcasm or railing speeches.
I remember the time God checked my quick, rash thoughts which were ruining my relationships. I was “breaking bruised reeds” – hearts of meek and humble people. This was my reaction to offenses and it was immature. My repentance was immediate because God’s Word had power!
Jesus never ever hurt the feelings of people. He suffered hurt to keep from crushing and bruising others. He dared not break fellowship, just because of a misunderstanding.
Oh! How this Word stepped in and exposed my attempts to prove my calling, my stature, and so on and so on. The Lord’s intent was to prevent me from inflicting further injury and harm to those I wrongly perceived to be opposers – indifferent and callous listeners. This Word rescued me from alienating myself. God’s loving mercies in others led them to forgive me. Praise the Lord!
If you recognize some of the same faults in yourself, thank the Lord for this healing exhortation and revelation. Praise Him for not allowing your character to remain tainted any longer. As God’s admonitions continue to come, and we adhere, we’ll enter into His rest. That need we once had to strive and contend, or to seek approval will diminish little by little. Our tone of voice will reflect the soberness of mind and love for our fellow man. Temperance will be displayed in our manner and conversation and we’ll become more savoury salt to others. He who humbles himself will cause the light of Christ to shine and thus draw others unto salvation.
I love you but God loves you more,
Prayerfully yours,
Lil
