Are my dreams selfish or God-driven?

God’s All About Fulfilling His Purpose!

Luke 2:25

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon;
and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel:
and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

If my dream lines up with God’s purpose for my life, it shall be accomplished by the Holy Spirit.

Simeon was just, fair and righteous according to the law. His spirit was devout. This elderly man believed the former prophets who spoke beforehand of the “consolation of Israel.” It was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Well now – if Christ is my hope and my consolation, He will be in my dreams and thoughts. His Word will be written on the table of my circumcised heart and my steps will be ordered by Him. Simeon’s dream was that He wouldn’t die before seeing God’s Deliverer, and God didn’t fail his humble and devout Simeon.

One day “he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, Simeon took him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, ‘Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word.’ ”

God will fulfill my purpose too, as He did for Simeon, when my heart is fixed and my mind’s made up to avenge all disobedience. Simeon’s dream was God’s opportunity to present Christ to men. This man not only saw and handled Christ, but was chosen to prophesy to Mary and Joseph that the babe in his arms was the “salvation of God prepared for be a light to lighten the Gentiles and a glory to His people.”

God fulfills our dreams when they fulfill His purpose. Simeon’s life pleased God so God used him. The question to us is: “Are my dreams selfish or God-driven?” “Am I seeking His will or mine?”

Victory won’t be realized until we align ourselves with that particular purpose which God had in mind when He rescued us from sin, death and hell.

I love you but God loves you more,

Prayerfully yours,
Lil
