There are so many things going on in the world today. Among one of them is the obesity problem. People aren’t exercising‚ so there are more and more of us that are getting heart conditions and cancer. I see people going out to eat almost every day‚ not bothering to eat a healthy meal at home. There are TV shows that talk about losing weight with humongous contestants! You wonder how America ever became this way.

Back in Bible times I wonder if any of the women ever really worried about their weight‚ or realized they had a problem. Like‚Oh I look so fat in this dress‚ or my feet look too big in these sandals. Or did they just not worrying about it? I think there were probably some who did realize when they had gained weight.

Back then‚ they could only eat certain meats like fish and many kept to a steady diet of juice and bread. They didn’t have the problem we have today of eating too many meats like burgers and sweets.

Now as far as the sweets scale I don’t think they had chocolate bars or chewy caramels back then. Figs were considered sweets. Veggies were a huge part of their meal life. They also had veggies that grew naturally by their homes‚ and they grew some themselves.

Drinking was still a problem back then though. Kings and priests were probably some of the fattest people around. They were lazy and hardly had exercise. Why exercise when they had servants that did everything for them? However there were some people who realized exercise was good for them. In the Bible it mentioned runners. David and some other famous speakers loved to run. There was also hunting and archery to test their skills.

As America becomes more and more obsessed with food‚ we need to maintain a Bible view perspective. Actually I’ll call it the Bible diet. We need to eat lots of fish‚ stay away from fatty meats as much as you can. Maybe a burger or two once a month. Don’t drink too much wine or beer‚ it’s bad for your health‚ and God warns us about it.

Eat lots of vegetables‚ Exercise a lot. Exercise your arms with basketball‚ and maybe sometime you might even want to test your skills with archery. Don’t stay in front of the TV. The Bible warns us about being lazy and gluttony.

Now that you know the Bible view of eating I hope you’ll want to change some of your eating habits. Trust me‚ you’ll feel happier about yourself‚ and God will be pleased too.

Remember your body is the temple of God.
Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do‚
do all to the glory of God.
