By Grace… by Elorm Yevuvi

A fool I was not to realize someone carried away my sin
A fool I was not to awake from my slumber
Underneath the grave of Sin
I was thinking my good works could
take me to heaven.
A fool I was always to fantasize the goodness and sweetness of the world
Never thinking of what the morrow could bring
Days and days I kept to myself
there is more time for me
Keeping the good works and imaginations to myself
Days and days the body began to fade
The body begins to wrinkle and grow weak and weaker
Oh daughter of Eve awake from your slumber
The morrow will not be yours
I heard from afar
A trembling soul I was
Then I realized the world
was not mine to live in
Oh daughter of Eve I heard again
I prepare a way for you to escape my wrath
Go to Jesus Christ and knock at his door
Sit‚ dine and live with him
Then you are assured of tomorrow
Now‚ I know the world is not my own to live in
I thank God that‚ I now sing by grace and laugh my mercy
