At our home in the summer, it can sometimes be challenging to work outside, because
of numerous bugs that like to pester and bite.
This year however, I found some hats and shirts on-line to purchase, that help repel
several types of insects.
At first I was a little skeptical, but they do in fact work well, and reduce the number of
bug bites we have had dramatically.
Whenever a bug tries to zoom in on us, they usually bounce back and retreat…when they
get in the “No Bug Zone.”
I told a few friends as well, and they too have had a more enjoyable summer because of
purchasing the products.
Soon, many of you will be off to school or college…and may be dreading the experience.
You fear that you will be Bugged and Pestered by irritating and rude remarks from others.
Today, I’d like to invite you to put on the armour of God, to fight against being sad and
depressed every day.
We must realize God provides us with a helmet of salvation, to guard our mind from
The Bible tells us…Great peace have they who love God’s law and nothing shall offend them.
You have to “choose” to stop allowing others to rule over your mind and steal your peace.
People will often say unkind things, but you don’t have to believe their lies.
God wants you to know that you are fearfully and wonderfully created in His image.
You are bless and gifted with amazing talents just waiting to blossom like a rose…
but if you allow people to keep bugging you with their words or actions…
you will spend your life being sad and depressed all the time.
Jesus told us that you are blessed when people say unkind things to or about you.
God is in heaven and is continually watching what others say and do to you.
When someone says unkind things…let it bounce back off of you and silently
say a prayer for that person.
Remember hurting people always hurt others…so if they are saying unkind things
about you, it may be that they have been mistreated by others…and are just using
you as on outlet for their pain.
Jesus said, if we love others, and treat them as we would like to be treated…we
can stop the cycle of hate in it’s tracks…and change the world…one person at a time,
with our behavior.
So today, I want you to know how much God loves you.
You are his cherished and beautiful sons and daughters…and he wants you to
enjoy each and every day of your life.
Choose to love.
Choose to forgive.
Choose to believe that you are special, talented, beautiful, and blessed…
because it’s true!
Father, thank you for being our ever present help in times of trouble.
We choose to put on the helmet of salvation. Help us to think with
the mind of Christ, and believe all the wonderful promises you have
give us in your word. Help us to love and forgive, as you have forgiven us.
Empower and equip us with the ability to change our day, by what we do
and say. Bless all the students going back to school and keep them
safe from harm and danger. With You, all things are possible.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
Remember you are loved and I’m praying for you.
