Feeling lost, searching for answers

Posted by

We all have experienced days when life seems to hand you a curve ball.

We spend hours looking for something we’ve lost, and it is upsetting
and stressful.

Our parents or loved ones may have lost their car keys, wallet, or the dog runs away.
In desperation we join together to hunt for the lost object…

but may be tempted to respond in anger, become bitter, or abort the search all together.

The Bible gives us wisdom and insight into why these things
happen, and how to respond when they do.

Man plans his way, but God directs our steps.

Today, lets travel back in time with a young man named Saul
and see how God used a lost animal to help him discover the
reason why he was born.

One day Saul’s father came to him and asked him to go search
for a run away donkey.

They searched for days, and were just about to give up, when Saul’s
servant suggested they ask the prophet in town for advise.

God had already warned the prophet Samuel that he was sending Saul to him
for a divine reason…

The prophet Samuel took him under his wing and revealed that God had chosen him
to be king over Israel.

He took a vial of oil and poured it over Saul’s head, anointing him with God’s favor and power.

Samuel said, when you leave me today you will find 2 men
by Rachel’s tomb at Zelzah. They will say to you, the donkey
you were looking for have been found and your father is
worried about you.

As you travel, you will come to the plain of Tabor and you will
meet 3 men going up to God to Bethel. One will be carrying
3 kids, another 3 loaves of bread, and another a bottle of wine.

They will salute you and give you 2 loaves of bread.

You will come to the hill of God where there are a group of
Philistines. When you come into the city, you will meet a company of
prophets coming down from the high place with a instruments.

They will prophesy:

And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy
with them, and shalt be turned into another man. 1 Samuel 10:6

When these signs come to pass, you shall do all as the LORD instructs,
for God is with you.

Before Saul was formed in the womb, God had chosen for him to
be king over his people.

Saul never dreamed he would be powerful of famous, but
when God anointed him, he was changed into another man.

Suddenly he was God’s chosen instrument, ready and able
to do the Lord’s work.

Saul realized that the lost donkey was all a part of God’s plan
to help him fulfill his divine destiny.

God filled his mouth with words and his heart with wisdom
and knowledge to lead the children of Israel.

Like Saul, each one of God’s children have a mission to accomplish
on the earth.

Perhaps today you feel lost, confused, and alone.

You may have lost your home, your job, or all of your friends.

You may be contemplating suicide or think no one cares.

He sees your tears and pain and can heal you everywhere you hurt.

Precious child, Jesus loves you and so do I.

God sent his son Jesus to die for your sins on the cross and
he wants to give you the free gift of eternal life in heaven.

All the blessings of our fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
are yours for the asking.

God has a plan for you and he can empower you with the power of
the Holy Spirit and transform you into another man or woman.

Call out to Jesus and let him take the broken pieces of your life and
mend them into a beautiful tapestry of love and service, to give him
glory.

Join our family and come under the umbrella of God’s love and protection.

Let’s pray…

Blessed Father in Heaven,
We come to your throne of grace asking for forgiveness
and mercy for our sins.

Thank you for sending Jesus to die for us on the cross and pay
our sin debt in full. Help us to turn from our life of sin and
use our gifts and talents to serve you and give you glory.
Anoint us with the oil of joy and peace so we may reflect
the light of your love.

We open our mouths, for you to fill with your prophetic words.
We open our ears to listen to your plan for our life.
We open our hearts so you may transform us into
new men and women ready and able to accomplish
our mission to spread the gospel of Jesus to all
nations of the world.

Evening, morning and at noon we will lift our
cries to you. You will deliver us and cover us
with the shadow of your wings. May your
angels surround us with a hedge of protection
keeping us from all evil and temptation.

We will praise you among the nations and
publish all the great and mighty things
you have done, so all people will know
that You LORD are the only true God
and Jesus Christ is the only way
which man may be saved.

We are strong, the word of God is in
us, and we have overcome the
evil one, through Christ Jesus!

Establish and bless the work of our hands
and hearts according to your will.

Thank you Father, for always hearing and answering our prayers.
Your hand is not too short that it cannot save! We wait expectantly
for your help and deliverance.

In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen

Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

Freely ye have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8

In Christian love,

Valerie Rousseau
