Life is filled with many tests and challenges each week. God left us his word
to help us remain peaceful in the midst of pain and suffering.
When we start to feel stressed and upset, we need to call out to God in prayer
and ask him for help.
The last few weeks, I’ve been struggling to keep calm and peaceful.
God reminded me of the words of his son…
Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Do not let your heart
be troubled or afraid.
I prayed…God give me a sign of your peace and bring peace back into my home and heart.
A few days later, my neighbor came over and said…I have a gift for you.
In the back of her vehicle, was a huge PEACE LILY!
She said, it’s too big for my sister’s house…do you want it?
The plant was overgrown with many damaged and dusty leaves…but I knew it was a sign
and gift from God to remind me of his love.
My husband and I spent the next hour or so, repotting the plant with fresh soil and trimming
back the damaged foliage.
Then I hosed it down and carefully wiped away the dirt off each leaf.
It now looks beautiful and a lovely peace flower is almost ready to open up.
God reminded me that I was like that peace lily. I’d allowed fear and doubt to damage my inner peace.
My loving Father wipes away the dirt of my sins and prunes away all that would hinder me from blooming,
even in the midst of problems.
I too needed to repotted in the fresh soil of his word, and get a fresh drink of living water, to help me grow
and bloom where he has planted me.
Today, you may feel stressed and worried about the future.
Beloved, pray to your loving Father and ask him to send you hope and encouragement.
This morning in my quiet time I came across this scripture…
And the work of righteousness shall be peace: and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. Isaiah 32:17-18
God tells us if we continue in his word, we will know the truth and it will set us free.
We do not have the ability to remain peaceful, if we do not make the time to spend with him.
He promises to keep us in perfect peace, if our mind is on him instead of our worries.
We need to learn to be still and know that he is God.
Beloved, cast all your cares to him, for he cares for you!
LET MY CHILDREN SEE
Let my children see in me…
Love and strength and stability.
Help me teach them to draw from you
All of the power your Word can do.
Let my example prove to them…
In trusting you, they’ll be freed from sin.
Let them see my reverent fear.
My love for you, when I draw near.
Let my example consistently prove,
that through obedience…they’ll never loose.
With respect for authority, I’ll honor you.
And give you the glory in all that I do.
By sharing with others, help them to see…
That you will supply all of their needs.
Help me stay focused, for I know my goal…
Is to teach them God’s Word and saving their souls.
For then the cycle, can continue again.
Our children become godly women and men.
And each generation, will love and trust you.
To lead them and guide them, in all that they do.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Your sister and servant of the LORD Jesus,
