Precious Prostitute

Posted by

My soul was in the pit of hell…
For like the woman at the well,
I lived my life for lust and greed.
Selfishly fulfilling, all my needs.

I did not care what others said…
My heart and conscience, now was dead.
Whenever God would warn me to heed…
I rebelliously did, whatever I pleased.

Then one dark night, in deep despair…
I felt alone…like no one cared.
Within my heart, I heard a cry.
The Spirit said, ” your sins must die.”

Repent and be released of sin.
And all the guilt and shame within.
Drink living water, from God’s word.
Be still, and let my voice be heard.

Now Satan’s chains that held me tight…
Were broken off, with Jesus’ light.
Forgiveness made me whole and strong…
And now, my heart to Him belongs.

Valerie Rousseau

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never
thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well
of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14 KJV
