The shelter’s 24th annual pre-Christmas Dinner will take place at Joy Junction’s 4500 Second Street Southwest facility at 6.00 p.m. on Monday Dec. 21. Country musician Guy Nix, owner of Porkys Pride BBQ on 4th Street in Albuquerque (www.porkyspride.com) will be singing. Joy Junction CEO and Founder Dr. Jeremy Reynalds said, “I really appreciate Guy coming over to Joy Junction to sing. Good music and food really make for a great holiday season.” And good food will be in abundant evidence. Monday night’s feast will feature donated rib eye steaks, baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, fresh mixed vegetables, salad, dinner rolls and dessert. The shelter’s 24rd annual traditional Christmas dinner will take place at Joy Junction’s 4500 Second Street Southwest facility from 2 p.m. through 6 p.m. on Friday Dec. 25. There’ll be a traditional feast of turkey and ham and all the trimmings. Volunteers from Sagebrush Community Church will be providing the musical entertainment. Reynalds said, “We really appreciate the outpouring of community support we’ve had so far this holiday season. It plays such an important part in helping the homeless realize some hope, and begin to get back on their feet again.” Reynalds said that Joy Junction invites anyone, homeless, lonely or hungry to come and eat at the shelter for either of its holiday dinners. Media wishing to film dinner preparations on Christmas Day may do so from 5 a.m. Stations may “go live” from the Joy Junction kitchen if producers wish. Please call Jeremy Reynalds at (505) 400-7145 a day in advance if at all possible. ** You may republish this story with proper attribution. Send this story to a friend. Share
