LA QUINTA, CA
(ANS) – The Festival of Life will sponsor the World’s Largest One Day Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 3, 2010. The Master’s Day Golf Tournament will be held on ten championship golf courses in the valley using a scramble format. The goal is to have at least 1020 golfers in order to beat the existing record of 1019 players. Representatives from Guinness World Records will be on hand to adjudicate the record. All men and women players are welcome. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the hole on all golf courses. Players can also win a new car at each course for a hole in one.

The cost of the tournament is $110.00 which includes the Friday, April 2, 2010 course assignment/pairing dinner at the Westin Mission Hills Resort where local professional golfer Jeff Cranford will interview several well known PGA Tour Professionals, one round of golf at the tournament and lunch on Saturday, April 3, 2010.

Players can sign up as teams or in smaller groups and will be paired with other players. Players sign up by going to www.lovmovement.com and clicking on the golf button at the top of the website. Non-players may attend the Friday Evening Dinner Pairing party at a cost of $30.00 per person. Deadline for signups is March 25, 2010.

The Festival of Life Coachella Valley is a partnership between the Lighthouse of the Valley Movement (LOV) and The Festival of Life with Dr. Mike MacIntosh. LOV is a group of about 100 local churches, Para church & businesses dedicated to reaching out to the Coachella Valley. The Festival of Life is recognized world-wide, holding its first event in the Philippines in 1990. Since this time, the Festival has visited cities throughout Mexico and the United States, and countries such as South Korea and Poland. This year, the Festival comes to the Coachella Valley. The event will culminate on the weekend of April 9–11, 2010 with a large evangelistic festival. Between now and then, the LOV Churches throughout the Coachella Valley will work together to present a caring message to our community, utilizing dozens of venues and involving thousands of believers.
