This is an excellent article! I now have a new vision as a single guy to treat women the way Christ treated His people. I have been encouraged by this article and I hope that you will continue to communicate this topic. Their are millions of single guys that need to hear this, and just one single guy reading or possibly listening to this can change many lives for the better through the message! May God's love continue to spread throughout the world!

Steve, I admire your desire to straighten the guys out. You make many good points, esp. the selfishness and playing with emotions part. If you cause her to put her love into you, but you aren't intending to be her husband realistically soon... you may be causing problems in her future marriage. Woe to you!

I think you missed the mark in a big and utterly common way however. We have made filthy what God has called Holy. Your mistake is in your worldly assumptions. Here are some of them. They do not line up with Word.

Here are some:
A beautiful girl can make the strongest of guys just woozy at the sight of her. The femininity, the curves, the…. okay… let’s not get too carried away!

That would ALREADY be too carried away (SIN). Sorry don't like 'legalities'... generally when God raised the standards not lowered them (in the heart, not just outward adultery etc...).

God did not intend for you too get woozy at all from ANY other woman than your wife that you are married to. It's that simple. If you look, think, or say anything in anyway you would say TO - OR ABOUT - your mother, your sister, your daughter. You just simply should not be thinking it AT ALL. PERIOD. It's just that easy.

You will be attracted to and desire your wife and only your wife. The more you restrain and retrain your brain to the fact, the better your married life will be. My husband can tell you, and it can be good, 'very good'.

wow,
this is great.i think guys should start being real to ladies because if you really get to know them from the inside they are really great than just looking at their physical qualities

Interesting article, with many good points that are thought provoking and challenging.

I had a bit of an issue with generalisations like "we all wonder if we have what it takes to be a real man", "there’s an insecurity inside every male heart" & "we are generally far too scared to let the real ‘me’ show, so we put on a facade". I don't remember being 'scared to show the real me', or feeling insecure & wondering if I have what it takes to be a real man. Do we all really have these same issues? If you're identity is found firmly in Christ, then we shouldn't.

I also find the legalistic view on boundaries unhelpful. Saying that by a girl and boyfriend kissing the relationship has become impure seems to me quite ridiculous. Is it possible to be in a pure God-centred relationship of love, respect, self control, honour, and show affection through a kiss? I think it is.

Other than this though, the article says so many great things, like the call to high standards, to honour our Princess, and most importantly to have pure motives before God, and he will bless our relationships!

On a more light-hearted note; regarding the statement 'Hormones are great to be used in marriage, -- not before!' - you clearly didn't study biology!

Keep up the good work ;-)

I'm a girl, but with all the things I've gone through in my life concerning males, the title caught my attention. This article is great, and even I never looked at dating this way. I'm in my first year of college and I'm "talking" to this Godly guy on campus. I really don't want another horrifying relationship, and I want to be a Godly girl to this guy. This article was truly inspiring and I think I'm going to show it to him. Thanks so much! God bless this ministry!

Thank you Steve on behalf of all women for your words of wisdom and guidance for men
to stand up and be a real man, who treats women like Christ would treat them.

It is refreshing to see you model a godly example and not follow the crowd which often
treats women as sex objects and with total disrespect.

Ladies, let's follow the example our brother is teaching and help men to treat us with respect,
by respecting ourselves and dressing like a princess and not a prostitute, so our brothers
will not be led into temptation in thought or deed.

We appreciate all you do Steve!

God bless!
