Working for a God who works for His people

By James Varghese
Special Correspondent in India for ASSIST News Service

INDIA

(ANS) – Gathering news, editing and sending it out is not an easy task, especially when it comes to journalists who work voluntarily for news agencies. Some of the difficulties involved is their time — from the daily schedule, travel to certain places for news coverage, working at a local Internet cafe, proof reading, editing and then sending out the final script. Hard work behind every news stories is very much important especially when it comes to editing, a very crucial role. I personally appreciate Dan Wooding for the wonderful task he is committed to in taking the news across the world.

I have been working as the India correspondent for ASSIST News Service for 2 ½ years. One of the main reasons for my voluntary work with ANS is because I feel that I should use my talents for God’s Kingdom in whatever way possible. So I asked permission from Dan to write my articles and he was kind enough to support me by taking all my news stories and releasing them around the world by e-mail and also on the ANS website. Many of my articles are written on persecution and ministry in India. Throughout these years, God has given me the provision to write these news articles for the glory of God and I hope that many readers are also blessed by them.

However, these days, I have not able to concentrate much on the news stories because of so many difficulties I have been experiencing. Just some months back, I was working with a social organization, but that didn’t work out. As I was working, I could manage all the expenses related to news through my salary, but now I am feeling it really hard, as I need to sit in the Internet café for many hours gathering and editing news stories.

I had written this request letter a year back through ANS to all our readers but there was not any response. The expenses related to the news gathering and editing can be reduced if the ANS readers could do some sort of financial help. So If I could purchase a laptop, I can carry it around to my convenience and then gather, edit and send across news easily and often to ANS.

So I humbly request the ANS readers in the name of God that if some one is led by the Lord and has a burden to financially support me to buy a Laptop, I will appreciate their help in that regard. A laptop in India would cost Rs.35, 000- Rs 50,000 (US $ 750-US $ 1000).

If any one is interested to help me out with this request, I would kindly ask them to get in touch with me to my email or contact number: jamesvarghese@sify.com. Contact Number: +91 9916822084

God bless you all!
