ROME, ITALY

(ANS) – The audience of 120 doctors from 50 countries sat in stunned silence as a renowned heart doctor produced evidence of how, after he had prayed for a patient who had died and was being prepared for the morgue, was brought back to life after prayer.

Dr. Chauncey W. Crandall IV speaking

Dr. Chauncey W. Crandall IV, who serves at the Palm Beach Cardiovascular Clinic in Palm Beach, Florida, Dr. Crandall making his dramatic presentation on Friday, July 13th, 2007, at the 4th Annual World Christian Doctors Network (WCDN) Conference in Miami, Florida.

He produced dramatic evidence that was shown on the screen and told of that day on October 20, 2006 when a middle-aged auto mechanic, Jeff Markin, walked into the Emergency Room at the Palm Beach Gardens Hospital and collapsed from a massive heart attack.

Forty minutes later he was declared dead. After filling out his final report, the supervising cardiologist, Dr. Chauncey Crandall, started out of the room.

In a later interview with me, Dr. Crandall explained, “Before I crossed its threshold, however, I sensed God was telling me to turn around and pray for that dead patient.”

Crandall had learned to follow that impulse even if he was embarrassed. “Father God,” he said, under his breath, “I cry out for this man’s soul. If he does not know you as his Lord and Savior, raise him from the dead now, in Jesus’ name.”

With that prayer and Dr. Crandall’s instruction to give the man what seemed one more useless shock from the defibrillator, Jeff Markin came back to life—and remains alive and well today.

Dr. Crandall said, after attending the 5th Annual International Christian Medical Conference in the beautiful Norwegian city of Trondheim, not far from the Arctic Circle, that the conferences he had attended were “a real turning point in my life.”

He went on to say, “Up until then, I thought I was standing alone as a believer in praying for the sick. I had no other physician that I could counsel with, review cases with, or someone who didn’t think I was possibly crazy for praying for my patients.

“I think what was more powerful than anything else to see the physician up on stage presenting a case and giving the truth of the gospel that Jesus heals. To me it was just wonderful to see other colleagues believe the way I do. That’s the mighty power of Jesus Christ.”

Dr. Crandall has now agreed to again be a keynote speaker at the 7th International WCDN Conference, in Rome, Italy, which will take place in the Conference Center of the Sheraton Roma Hotel.

Hundreds of Christian doctors and medical professions who prescribe “Divine Healing” for their patients will be heading for Rome to examine “documented miracles” at this unique “Spirituality and Medicine” conference.

Speakers also include several Italian Christian doctors who will present evidence of miracles they have seen in their practice and ministry.

One is Dr. Mauro Adragna, Director of WCDN Italy, who is also Chairman of Organizing Committee of the conference.

He said, “I had the pleasure of knowing WCDN three years ago after being invited to participate at the 4th International Conference that WCDN held in Miami (USA) in 2007. Then, the following year I went to the conference in Trondheim (Norway) and in 2009 in Kiev (Ukraine). All of the conferences were unforgettable experiences!

“In addition to the exquisite welcome, I was struck by the spiritual atmosphere and the high scientific level of the presentations, in which the discussion took place on evidence of medical cases of divine healing. These special moments helped to increase my faith in the healing power of God. Seriously considering both the professional and spiritual impact of WCDN, and despite my many duties as a psychiatrist and a pastor, I have agreed to become director of WCDN for my nation. I promote and spread wholeheartedly this initiative among Italian Christians doctors.”

“I encourage all Christian medical professionals to participate, so that together with the Italian doctors you might have fellowship, and above all, give glory to the Great Physician.”

Italian Doctor and Pastor, Liborio Porrello, will also be a plenary speaker at the conference.

attendees to come to Rome

He told ANS, “I was born and live in Italy. Although I graduated in medicine, many years ago, I took the decision to devote my life to full time ministry and I founded in Palermo (Sicily) the church called ‘The Word of Grace’ which now has grown into approximately 5,000 members.

“Last year I was invited by Dr. Mauro Adragna to attend the 6th International Conference WCDN held in Kiev in Ukraine. I must say that I have lived, beyond language barriers, an intense communion in the Spirit with the speakers and the various doctors from all around the world.

“The medical cases were a clear proof of the healing power of Christian prayer, a miracle of which I am a firm believer, having experienced myself many times during my 25 years of ministry. Yes I have seen many people healed!

“So, come in, join us, to be able to once again experience that ‘He is the Lord who heals us.’”

Besides, an opening press conference, a welcome to delegates from Dr. Yoon Seok Chae (President of WCDN), the many speakers and medical presentations of documented healings, there will be praise and worship from local Christian musicians and also from a Korean Performance Team.

Note: WCDN is an Interdenominational organization composed of Christian Medical Professionals of the World. WCDN says that it wants to motivate the Christian Medical Professionals to reflect the love of Jesus Christ and to be a witness for Him in their professional life.
