Casey
Page, a 17 year old singer, songwriter, and guitarist,
released her debut album, "Conformed to Christ" in
January to showcase the talents God has given her and bring
His message through her music. The CD is aptly titled
because conforming
to Christ seems to be a unifying theme throughout the collection.
The
style of the songs (which Page penned herself) is a mix of
alternative rock, pop and folk. Even though the project is
not labeled as a worship album, Page - who hails from Louisville,
KY - brings forth intense vocals and heartfelt lyrics that take
the listener to a place of deep communion with the Father. If

Casey Page is a seventeen year old
singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Louisville, Kentucky
who feels a calling to minister to others through her music.
"My
mission is to reach out to my generation for God because
I feel teenagers today are in desperate need of Christ
and Salvation. I would like to spread the message that
we are not to be like everyone else in this world. |
As
believers in
Jesus we are to value a relationship with Him above all
else and this doesn't apply to just people my age, this need
applies
to all of us. To put Jesus first in everything is something
I struggle with every day; I believe it is a struggle for
all Christians. But the will to strain towards the goal
is the
first step to winning the prize. I pray that God will be
able to use me to ignite the fire in people I minister
to through
my singing and my songs. This is my goal and the desire
of my heart."
With her mix of Christian rock and folk styles, Casey delivers
a sound that is definitely her own with the Gospel of Jesus
Christ in the center of all the lyrics which she penned
herself. Over the past year and a half she has been able
to sing for
as many as 3,000 people at youth conferences such as WinterFest
SouthWest in Dallas', TX and Metro Chicago Youth for Christ's
Get Real Conference in Chicago, IL. She is also busy playing
at churches, coffeehouses, youth groups, schools, and music
festivals along with being asked to sing on television
stations in her state numerous times. Now her debut album
titled "Conformed
to Christ" has been released to the public after a
year's work of recording.
But Casey realizes that her testimony is just as important
to her ministry as her music. She feels that she needs to share
her story with her generation of how God is not only working
in her life, but how He can work in their lives as well.
"I started high school at a large
public school in Louisville, and (of course) wanted to
be popular
and to fit in. To make
the long story short, everything I wanted to happen - including
being accepted - didn't and I started to question my worth
and value as a person. Lets just say that I knew how it felt
to walk the halls and feel invisible and what it was like
to be lost in a crowd. The only thing that got me through
and showed me a new meaning was Jesus Christ and His plan
for my life. He made it possible for me to go to a small
private school and I am attending there now. I am still not
the "social honeybee" I had once craved to become.
I still feel different from my peers and sometimes that
can be very frustrating. Yet now my goals aren't to be
the most
popular girl in my class ... truthfully, I couldn't care
less whether I am or not. My goals are to please God and
each day to try to become a better vessel for His use.
Some days I may not be any better than the day before;
I might
actually go backwards in my race towards the goal of His
righteousness. But I'm trying to fulfill God's will for
my life the best I know how, moving on in the only strength
I have - His."

will always go through struggles in our lives; the Lord didn't
say that everything would be
easy for us while
we live our life for Him. What is awesome about Christianity
is not that God will make sure that our life is care-free;
what's awesome about it is that in those troubles we surely
will have the Creator of the Universe will be by our side.
He'll be our best friend when we have no one else. So many
of us strive to meet other people's standards and other people's
goals... we want desperately for the world to approve of us.
The truth is that we will never be loved by the world if we
love Jesus Christ. Yet the wonderful reality God has shown
me is that we don't need to be loved by the world. As Christians
we are a part of the greatest love story ever told!"
